Subject: Math
Mrs. Lisa Ledyard provided math tutoring services for my son who was failing 8th grade math and in danger of not graduating to continue his education in high school with the rest of his peers. He wasn't completing his homework because he just didn't understand the concepts being taught. Within a few sessions with Mrs. Ledyard we began to see improvement in our son’s confidence and he began turning in his homework and improving on his weekly test scores so significantly that by the end of the final grading period our son was able to take his grade from an “F” to a “B+”, which I attribute largely to Mrs. Ledyard's ability as a Teacher. Her DBA, Unbelievable Tutor is fitting as she is extremely talented as an highly effective teacher.
Lisa is very organized, patient and an excellent communicator with both students and their parents. She provides clear instruction to her students and gives detailed notes after each tutoring session. Our son, who has little patience and interest in Math enjoyed working with Lisa and responded well to her teaching methods and style. I highly recommend her to any family whose child needs tutoring in any core subject.

To Whom this May Concern:
Mrs. Lisa Ledyard has been tutoring my son since he was in first grade. I can attest that she really is an amazing tutor! She specializes in working with children who have special needs. She makes learning fun and finds different methods to meet the individual needs of her students.
One of the things that stands out for me was how my son hated math facts. Mrs. Ledyard created a checker board using math facts and to my utter amazement, a week later, my son was answering all his math facts within 2 seconds. He went from hating math to loving math and his confidence level sky rocketed. My son was struggling in math and reading and Mrs. Ledyard supported his learning through elementary school and attended his 8th grade promotion in May. You will not find a better private educator for your child than Mrs. Lisa Ledyard.

To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing this letter of recommendation on behalf of Mrs. Lisa Ledyard. My son just completed 8th grade but throughout the year, he struggled with his math class. He failed one quarter and was at risk of failing the last quarter, which jeopardized his chance of completing 8th grade and moving on to high school.
We knew he was struggling with basic concepts and skills that we weren't able to help him with. After having several serious discussions with his math teacher, we determined that he needed a tutor. One of the teachers at his school gave us Lisa's name and number.
After contacting Lisa in early March she started working with my son twice a week. She was punctual and was able to work and communicate with my son in a way that he needed. Lisa is patient and kind, and my son responded well to her. She was firm and consistent with the way she taught him the skills. My son listened, practiced, and remembered what she told him. He was able to utilize the skills he learned to improve his test and quiz scores consistently. She instilled a sense of confidence in him that he was desperately missing.
By the end of the school year in May, his grade went from an F to an A and he was able to promote to high school with the rest of his classmates. Lisa continued to work with him through the summer to prepare him for Algebra 1. She has a way of communicating and working with her students and my son responded very well to her teaching style. I can't say enough nice things about Mrs. Ledyard. She truly is an Unbelievable Tutor and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a tutor. She helped my son graduate with his classmates and on to High School he goes. Both my son and I will forever be grateful.
Sincerely,

Subject: Piano Lessons
To Whom it May Concern:
My daughter has been taking piano lessons with Mrs. Lisa Ledyard since January of 2023. She loves Mrs. Ledyard and loves learning how to play the piano. This is the first "extra curricular activity that my daughter has participated in and absolutely loves! She did soccer... hated it. She was in gymnastics and every time practice day arrived she would have anxiety and protested going. But now that she has been taking piano lessons from Mrs. Ledyard, something is very different. Good different. She will be playing on her tablet and when I remind her it is time for piano lessons I go no push back. No argument. Just a smiling face and willing spirit with an, "Okay, Mom. I'm ready." If we have to reschedule a lessons she is disappointed and keeps asking me when we are going to have piano lessons. She practices her lessons everyday and can't wait to share with her grandparents her progress when she visits them or they us. Mrs. Ledyard is a wonderful teacher and that is 90% of the battle!! She tells everyone she is taking piano lessons and loves her teacher.
Sincerely,
Stephanie, Tucson, Arizona

I am beyond thankful to have found Mrs. Lisa Ledyard! She brings a fun and energetic approach to tutoring that my daughter absolutely took to from her very first session. Her confidence has skyrocketed and has received an award for her improvement in reading. I am amazed and cannot recommend Mrs. Ledyard more! Mrs. Ledyard has become a friend and my daughter looks so forward to her time and learning with her each week. If you are needing tutoring services by all means reach out to this amazing teacher and get the help your child needs. You won't regret it.

Subject: Reading
To Whom it May Concern:
My son was in danger of repeating first grade. The thought of him failing first grade was devastating to both his father and me. We interviewed a few people but when we met Mrs. Ledyard we knew she was going to be a good fit. We were right in our judgement about her. She was much more than we expected. Our son has Attention Deficit and doesn't get along with many people. When he had his first session with Mrs. Ledyard, his dad, and my mom and I were all present and we were impressed with her manner of conducting the tutoring session. She is positive and affirming and made my son feel so good about himself. We heard them laughing at times and she made the session so enjoyable that when time was up my son said, "Already? That's too short." We hired Mrs. Ledyard to tutor twice a week.
It was money well spent. She helped us navigate through the educational system and in the end our son did not have to repeat first grade and went on to second grade with his peers. She brought light into our dark tunnel with resistance from my son in both reading and writing. He began improving and demonstrating ownership over his learning. My son received tutoring from Mrs. Ledyard for three solid years and showed significant improvement. He is now a straight A honor student in middle school. This was not possible without Mrs. Ledyard's help. She is a kid at heart, kind, generous and an amazing overall teacher. She has helped my son in so many different ways academically and has helped him gain a sense of accomplishment, pride and self-confidence. My family and I highly recommend Mrs. Lisa Ledyard for tutoring.

Subject: Home Schooling
To Whom it May Concern:
Our kiddo took a break from public school for a year. During that time we tried online classes but each time we set our daughter in front of the computer it seemed that two minutes later she was slumped over the keyboard sound asleep. She is easily "bored" both in the classroom and online. We were at our wits end and didn't want our daughter to fall behind during this break from the traditional classroom learning experience. We hired Mrs. Ledyard to be our daughter's home school private teacher. She taught her the core curriculum, reading, writing, Math, and included science, history, geography, music lessons for both the Piano and Recorder. She spent 9 hours a week tutoring our daughter for four months. In those four months our daughter improved dramatically in writing and not just content but printing, paragraph structure, details. Her math skills improved. She was challenged. Mrs. Ledyard would text us pictures of the time she spent with our daughter and we saw a lot of hands on learning. Our daughter was very happy with her tutoring time with Mrs. Ledyard. She looked forward to each session because she said Mrs. Ledyard made learning fun for her because she always came up with new ways to practice math facts or learn new things.
Even though our daughter presents with her own unique challenges, Mrs. Ledyard figured her out pretty quickly and knew what to do to engage her and get her learning and make it an enjoyable process for our daughter.
Our daughter decided she wanted to be with friends her own age back at the traditional school she was attending previously. She said she wanted to show everyone how smart she is. We re-enrolled her in public school this year 2023 and is now way ahead of where she was before working with Mrs. Ledyard. She is now crushing both math and reading.
Both my wife and I unreservedly and with great confidence highly recommend Mrs. Ledyard as a teacher, tutor and music teacher.
Best Regards,
Matt, Vail, Arizona
